Thursday, September 9: Climate Justice for the Amazon: STOP FALSE SOLUTIONS
Join us and spread the word to your community
On day 6 of the Global Week of Action for the Amazon we focus on exposing false solutions created by companies and financial institutions, and even some governments, attempting to appear as if they are reducing emissions without actually doing so. They want to perpetuate business-as-usual while “compensating” for it with schemes such as forest offsets. Pay-to-pollute schemes like this are false solutions to the climate crisis, do not address the root causes of forest loss, and risk severe harm to Indigenous communities. Take the time to hear from experts and join us in the community to share your learnings.
