The Amazon is at the tipping point, yet banks continue to fund and invest in Amazon oil – a "first cut" in the destruction of the rainforest. Banks must stop providing investment and financing in the Amazon, where risks of climate change, biodiversity loss, deforestation, Indigenous rights violations, pollution, and corruption are extremely high.
JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, and HSBC are some of the worst actors when it comes to financing oil and gas exploitation in the Amazon. They also have the worst policies in place to protect against the inherent risks associated with these industries. These banks must stop financing Amazon crude and exclude all Amazon oil and gas from their investments and financing.
If Banks don't divest, it will become near impossible to protect 80% of the Amazon by 2025!
The alarm bells about the continued degradation of the Amazon were sounded DECADES AGO. It's not a new concept, not a recent development, there is nothing said today about deforestation that was not spoken in 1999. Only now, it is more than urgent. It is CRISIS. The feedback loop of fewer and fewer carbon sink trees, combined with the massive burning of felled trees that releases huge volumes carbon dioxide, methane, and soot for global distribution is not just a crime against the vital, irreplaceable Amazon ecosystem, but the planet and 7.8 billion human beings on it. All are under dire threat because of these daily and interconnected episodes of destruction of Mother Earth, from the oceans to the glaciers to the tropical and boreal forests. Mother Earth is becoming truly fed up, and when the chain snaps there will be catastrophe and chaos and suffering, and the HUMAN RACE WILL HAVE ONLY ITSELF TO BLAME. YOU WERE WARNED AND WE/YOU ARE DOING ALL TOO LITTLE AND ALMOST ALL TOO LATE.
SACRED LAND AND INDIGENOUS PEOPLE MUST RETAIN THEIR FREEDOM FROM BLINDLY INSANE CORPORATE GREED.
We must tell leaders this movement is for their grandchildren.
There's only one Planet Earth

The world is run by greedy heartless bastards and you have to stand up against them
This is neocolonialism and it has to end!
